What does a day in camp general look like? (this is all tentative and subject to change)

9:00-10:30 AM:Introduction to instructors, the horses/ponies. Help feed and do some stable management/chores and learn about the importance of that. Once finished we will catch horses/ponies and groom, tack up, learn about safety around the horses and rules in the barn and in the arena. Learn how to lead the horse and head into the arena.

10:30AM - 12:00PM: Ground work demonstration, along with hands on learning about the importance of ground work. It is the building block to nearly everything we do with the horses! Discussion of safety rules and arena etiquette. Mount up and we’ll go over the basics of riding and learn to maneuver around obstacles.

12:00-1:00 PM: Break for lunch Q&A, trivia or a game/discussion along with some arts and crafts.

1:00-2:00 PM: Back out to the arena for another hour of riding! (Weather permitting and will vary from day to day, if bad weather arts and crafts or other game)

2:00- 3:00 PM: Untack, groom, clean up and put horse/pony away. Discuss equine behavior and body language while watching the horses in the field

This is just a part of one day! There will be so much more we will discuss and work on and learn about!
