At Door County Horsemanship, our aim is to cultivate exceptional horsemanship through practical and engaging activities in a safe and supportive learning environment. We incorporate the exciting disciplines of horse showing and ranch/cowhorse work into our teaching methods, providing a well-rounded equestrian education.
Our philosophy centers on promoting a deep understanding of horses. We believe in preparing all of our students for the responsibilities and joys of horse ownership. That's why our comprehensive curriculum covers everything from basic daily care to advanced showing techniques, ensuring our students are knowledgeable and confident in every aspect of interacting with their equine partners. Our instructors have years of experience teaching, training and showing horses under many different disciplines,
At DCH, we believe that horsemanship, like any rewarding sport, requires dedication and commitment. To ensure our new riders gain a solid foundation and truly begin their lifelong journey with horses, we ask for a minimum commitment of three months of lessons. This can be achieved through weekly, bi-weekly, or even thrice-weekly sessions, allowing you to choose a schedule that best suits your goals and availability. This initial three-month period is just the beginning, providing the essential groundwork for a fulfilling and lasting partnership with equines.
*Months that have 5 weeks in them will be used as makeup lesson weeks, if there are no makeups needed, there will be no lessons that week.**

Level-Based Curriculum: Our structured curriculum ensures continuous progress. You'll be evaluated at the end of each semester to determine the best course of action for your riding journey. Students generally go up one to two levels a year, depending on their consistency and commitment. Some progress quicker, some slower. It's all a personal journey!
Flexible Payment Options:
-
For your convenience, DCH accepts various payment methods, including cash, credit/debit cards, Venmo, and checks. Lessons are invoiced and charged on a monthly basis.
Makeup Lessons:
-
Within each 3-month commitment, we offer one makeup lesson. If you need to cancel a scheduled lesson, please provide us with at least 24 hours' notice to be eligible for a makeup.
-
If a cancellation is made with less than 24 hours' notice, the lesson will be forfeited, and a makeup will not be offered.
-
We will make every effort to reschedule your makeup lesson. However, if two attempts to find a suitable time are unsuccessful, the makeup lesson will be forfeited.
-
Please note that if a pre-scheduled makeup lesson is canceled with less than 24 hours' notice, that makeup lesson will also be forfeited.

In the event that DCH needs to cancel a lesson, you will receive a makeup opportunity.
